Bonita Lake
We headed out of town for a long weekend in Ruidoso, New Mexico on February 18, 2010. Jer had asked me to take off for the weekend about a month before because he wanted to get away for the weekend. So I happily agreed because we needed a break! Friday, the 19th, we headed to the ski slopes and were having a great time until I fell and popped my knee! That was about half way through the day and I thought I might be able to go on, but it was hopeless my knee hurt so bad. Jer went on to ski some of the crazy black slopes while I rested. Then we went up the gondola to see the gorgeous view on top of the mountain. Well come to find out later, he was going to ask me up there, but we got interrupted! Saturday, the 20th, we went sight-seeing, ate lunch and went tubing down some little ski hills. While there, he asked me if I wanted to go back to the look out up by the ski slope and I was like why it's about to be dark! Come to find out again, he was going to ask me there too! HA Anyway, we left the tubing hills and off we went again to sight-see some more. He took me up to this beautiful, frozen secluded lake called Bonita Lake. There was no one around, just us driving around the gorgeous lake. We stopped so I could take pictures and take in the scenery. At this point we were hugging and trying to take pics of us on our own. Next thing I knew, he was like "Will you marry me?" I was like "Yes, I told you I would" (we had been talking about this jokingly the whole trip). He said "Really", he took out the ring, got down on his knee and asked me again. After a minute of being speechless, I said "YES"! I was so absolutely surprised and started crying! We saw a sweet old couple pass by so Jer flagged them down to see if they would take our pictures! LOL The whole proposal was absolutely perfect, he did a wonderful job! We couldn't be happier, blessed and more in love!
The Bling!
My dear FI did an amazing job picking out my beautiful ring! He literally traveled all over TX just to find the e-ring, diamond and wedding band. After months of looking and trying on rings, this is the one he picked! I absolutely love it!
My Wedding band
My dear FI traveled all over the place to locate this wedding band so it would match my e-ring. He finally found the band & the diamond in Austin and he got there just in time as another guy came in after my FI looking for it too. It was the last one! I am so happy I have a matching set!
FI's wedding band
We looked all over the place for his wedding band and he finally decided on this one. He loves it and it looks great on his hand. It's a James Avery and the 7-8MM width.
